  • QDEP 505 8th Avenue New York, NY, 10018 United States (map)

AFSS is pleased to offer this unique workshop on Compassionate Communication with communication expert Judy Burrill.

Date: Saturday July 29

Time: 1:00 to 5:00 pm

CHANGE OF ADDRESS:

Location: QDEP, 505 8th Avenue, 8th Avenue and 35th Street which is just one block West and one block North of Penn Station.

The space is being donated by QDEP who will be sharing the workshop with us. QDEP (works with LGBQ individuals who have had negative contact with the justice system or US Immigration). This will create a unique opportunity to spend time with others outside the Autism community and share this experience.

The workshop will cover Responding yo Anger and Offering Effective Feedback.

Responding to Anger:

Sometimes people we work with will get irritated or even full-blown angry with a co-worker, supervisor, or even us. It can be challenging to hear what important information underlies their anger and to use it to create more productive work, or other relationships and the ability to move forward.

This workshop will help you:

  • Overcome getting defensive or withdrawn when others are angry.
  • Hear the important messages behand other peoples anger
  • Have fewer regrets and more productive outcomes from interactions involving anger.

Offering Effective Feedback

It can be challenging to talk with employees, colleagues or friends about their behaviors that are not working well.  This workshop will give you skills and understanding about offering feedback that increases performance while also building trust, supporting motivation, and creating goodwill.

We will be going out to eat after the workshop and choose where to go as a group
